    2. Dave McKean is my favorite artist and this book is one of the best he has done. It is one of the most beautiful books I own. The art work is just incredible. While talking about such issues as war and mental illness it does so with beautiful and intricate images. The story of one man's life and how it was destroyed by war, even though he managed to miss the worst of it. The book is presented as a selection of dreams from his earliest to his last.     3. While this is not McKean's best work, it's an interesting, ambitious book that serves as an introduction to Paul Nash's work and life. I do understand the negative reviews, but I think this work is best read as a teaser for the larger 14-18 Now project, which serves, in part, to explore the legacy of WWI in the British imagination. In lesser hands, this probably would have just been a project flyer, but McKean, always the visionary, decided to create a lasting work of art in its own right. I' [...]
